The big problem with me and making art is that no matter how much I focus on my work, I can never replicate the big picture. Something always goes wrong. If I focus on how the different elements work as one, the individual elements come out terrible. With small drawings on paper, it's easy enough withholding my terrible "fine drawing" skills, but intricate works like this on such a huge scale is just amazing. Does he look at a building and a perfect picture pops into his head? Does he improvise? I admire his work.

I don't know but I imagine he makes sketches first and then I can also imagine some on site improvisation... Also if you look at the close up shots you will notice lots of drips and things.... the accident becomes part of the process.

Interesting. Also, I suppose that people don't really look for the flaws in foreign works, only in their own, flaws that nobody else would see.
